Lehri may take over as CS Balochistan

Quetta—Balochistan is without Chief Secretary for the last two days as Mr. Nasir Mehmood Khosa the outgoing Chief Secretary has taken over the charge of Chief Secretary Punjab. Mr. Nasir Mehmood Khosa played outstanding role as Chief Secretary during turbulent circumstances in the province.
On occasions he earned the displeasure of provincial ministers but remained strict while discharging his duties in accordance with the rules.
According to Governor Balochistan, Nawab Zulfiqar Ali Magsi, Mr. Khosa was an asset to the province.
His transfer to Punjab was so sudden that the federal government could not name his successor. The Chief Minister Balochistan, Nawab Muhammad Aslam Raisani is in Islamabad in touch with Prime Minister for the new Chief Secretary but still in search of suitable replacement.
According to reports Mr. Ahmad Bakhsh Lehri DMG now Federal Secretary is likely to be posted as new Chief Secretary but he is stated to be hesitant to accept the offer in view of the peculiar political and administrative situation in the province.
Major Haroon Rashid Additional Secretary in the PM Secretariat who has served the province on important posts is also being considered for the CS post.
Many other bureaucrats are vying to be named as Chief Secretary but their credentials are not being given favourable consideration.
There are reports here that the out going Chief Secretary, Mr. Nasir Mehmood Khosa may hold dual charge till the new incumbent is nominated.
